“I THINK THE DESIRE TO SEE A MOVIE THAT REVOLVES AROUND US REALLY CAPTURES THE IDEA THAT WE TRULY SEE OURSELVES HOW WE WANT….”

mess_by_fjuk

i think the desire to see a movie
that revolves around us
really captures the idea
that we truly see ourselves

how we want,

a

snow-blind,
euphoric
painting

we’ve done of ourselves,
put up in our rooms

neat and quirky and real.
eccentric in that nice amount

except

we’re messes, not
in an abstract-cool-hung-in-
-a-gallery way,
we are swans
who simply don’t fly well
or splash well, constantly
in a corner
screwing up what
someone else finished

and
in reality,
i’m not sure
anyone would root
for us at all.

truth
i could be a villain,

or at best

a splintered,
clingy
B-list actor

in his own biopic

i should note this piece came hurried and as a response to another blog post which you can read here. also, check out her other stuff. tis swell. like the season.

Interesting. I think the desire to bestow reality checks really captures the idea that we feel, as a people, as though our individual wisdoms prove more valuable than any other’s journey to their own.

And while you wouldn’t watch yourself for fear the act would cement your inadequacies, I would watch you. Clingy, B-list actors are apparently quite relatable.
